+Mostly a “High elf”, city friendly, type of elf is found in imperial lands.  While treating the elven founded city of Nordhaz as a kind of homeland they have populations in most of the large cities.  The elves of Kiereth are slightly more removed from their “high elf" cousins and “wild” elves can be found in isolated locations around the continent.  Politically they avoid causing a stir but on a few occasions all of elvenkind decided to present a unified front that the empire was unable to ignore.  Preventing a doomed civil war on one occasion and forcing the empire to abandon attempts to subdue the northern regions of the continent many years later.  This apparent dedication to the stability of the empire meant for increased influence, but has become something of a social burden as that empire has fractured.  Both sides of that are, rather unfairly, attributed almost entirely to the city dwelling elves.
